Kenwood was founded in 1947 by Kenneth Wood and started out under the name of Woodlau Industries before adopting its current name shortly after. The firm originally developed a range of household appliances, including toasters and food mixers, eventually branching out into coffee makers.

The company has manufacturing bases in the UK, Italy and China. After various shifts in ownership, Kenwood became part of the De’Longhi group in 2001 and is now a household name in over 80 countries.
