Bodum Coffee Makers

Bodum was founded in 1944 by Peter Bodum in Copenhagen, Denmark. Initially specialising in kitchen glassware imported from Eastern Europe, Bodum changed direction in the 1950s and began to design its own products. In 1958, the company produced its first coffee machine, the Santos, which is still in production today.

In 1974, Bodum produced its first French coffee press, the Bistro. The French Press coffee maker became an extremely popular product, and Bodum has produced over 60 million units in various styles since then.

Using this knowledge of presses, Bodum produced the ASSAM Teapot in 1991, which used the same plunger-based design as its coffee makers, and in the following year the company expanded further to produce a range of electrical household products. In 2003, Bodum introduced its first espresso maker, the Granos.

Bodum is one of the leading brands of coffee maker on the market, and makes a great range of products including espresso machines and French Press coffee makers. The company’s products are available from many online retailers at very reasonable prices.
